PIC HEAVY...Road To Polish Con - Chicago 2017 Part One

Oh. My. Goodness, y'all! All my RTPC pretties have been hiding away just sitting around since SEPTEMBER!!! I'm a terrible nail polish addict...

Anyways. I decided that I was going to swatch them all! In one day!

Yeah. One day. Did I mention I have 3 kids ages 7 and under?

Maybe a little too ambitious...what do you think? This pic is only missing one of my RTPC polishes...

Just a wee bit ambitious... haha!

All of these polishes are shown with 2 coats, plus matte top coat on ring and pinkie, and glossy top coat on the others. All photos taken in my lightbox.

I decided to start from the very beginning, and *gasp* I didn't buy any of the Week 1 polishes! (See? Terrible nail polish addict.) So, since I don't have any from Week 1, I'll start with the lonely Week 2 polish that I grabbed!

This is Lavish Polish Meet Me on the Pier. It's a super pretty creamy teal jelly with flakies... gorgeous. But I forgot the macros! 

Up next is Lollipop Posse Lacquer's Cotton Candy Chaos. Oh my goodness this one is so fun! So bright, with all that glittery flaky goodness...and that blue/purple flash! I really love this one.

Next, also from Week 3 is Darling Diva's Chi-Town Divas. This is a super dense burgundy base with TONS of shimmer, holo, flakies, and sparkle. Such a beautiful polish. I wish I could have captured it more accurately.

My one and only Week 4 purchase is grom Anonymous Lacquer. This is Meet Me At The Midway. Oh my sparkly flaky holo goodness. Look. Just look.

Up next are my Week 5 purchases.

First, Cupcake Polish Mystic Blue! This is such a pretty, warm, holo blue!!! I just love it.

Next is Different Dimension Odessy II. Ok. Let me just say that since getting completely lost in this wonderful colorful world that is nail polish, I've rediscovered my love of pink...and this gorgeous pink holo is no exception!!!

Last but absolutely not least, is Glisten & Glow Spirit of Chicago. I'm already a sucker for purple, so I definitely couldn't pass up this purple holo beauty!

Hello, hello!

Hello again!

It's been pretty busy in the "mami" household lately. Since my last post, seen here, my kid' have gone back to school (and consequently, gotten sick way too often), I continued working, and I got to start going back to school myself! Yay! As you can see by my Instagram feed on the right side, I'm still painting, but they'e all part of the second half of the "year in color" challenge that was featured in my last post.

Except for one thing.

Polish Con.

Oh. Mygoodness. I had a BLAAAAAAASSST!!! I spent WAY too much money, but I canNOT wait to go again! I might even try to go to The Indie Shop...but don't tell my husband! Ha!

Anyways. Polish Con Chicago. Navy Pier!!! This was my first Con, and man did it leave an impression. The venue was huge which is great for those like me that tend to suffer from anxiety...and get claustrophobic. Unfortunately, I didn't take many pics while there because, well... I was too busy buying every bottle of polish that touched my finger tips... Ha! Go check out my friend Cici's blog for an awesome overview of the whole experience!

I do have a haul pic, and a pic of the goodies I won! It was like CHRISTMAS!!!

And my winnings!!! I was FLOORED when I found out that I won! My friend and I hoofed it 20 minutes from our hotel back to the hall so I could pick it up!

*sigh*

So much fun. I can't wait to go again!

A Year In Color: The First Six Months **PIC HEAVY**

Hey all!

First, if you haven't checked out Polished Plumage on Instagram, please do! This was a great idea that she's shared with a group of awesome fellow nail polish lovers, including myself. Each month has a different color theme using a unique hashtag along with #ayearincolor, and it's been fun so far! See the original post with monthly colors listed here.

January became known as #whitejanuary.

The first one was actually part of a mani swap with egyptianmani! I really enjoyed this one.

This was my first Pats mani for the NFL playoffs, also white for January! 

This one may not be *exactly* white, but oh well! I went to a Wings game, and this was my mani!

February was blue, hence, #bluefebruary.

The (oh-so-fitting) color for March was green! And #greenmarch was born!

St. Patrick's Day nails...aaaand, a little bit of my cat. :-)

April brought out all the nudes...#nudeapril

Easter Nails! I used lots of Moonflower Polishes on this one.

May wrapped up spring pretty well with #yellowmay, but...I didn't...

I painted...I planned...I broke. *sad*

And the last of the first six months, #violetjune. PURPLE!!! My fave! (It may actually rival #greenmarch in the number of times I painted!)

Some ladies got together for another support mani, and it was beautiful, purpley, love and gorgeousness!

...slipping away...again!

Oye. I really need to keep up on this a lot better! It's one of my goals this year to blog a little more, but so far...I'm failing, miserably!

Yes, I'm still painting my nails.

I'm still buying polish like a fiend (ok, not THAT much).

I'm still doing mani swaps, bestie twin nail manis, still participating in polish swaps (and getting some pretty sweet stuff in the process)...but blogging about it has kind of fallen by the wayside as of late. Check out my Instagram feed @mamineedsamani or on the right side of the screen!

However................I'll have a very exciting post in a couple of months. Want to know why?

Hello again!

Ok, here's the deal. I got busy. I know, I know. Not an excuse, but it's the truth! I went back to work full time in May, so my polishing time is slimmer than it was in the past, and blogging time is even less.

I will do better.
