Mommy's Mani Monday - Catch up!

I know, I know. I'm a terrible blogger. I leave y'all hanging all the time. I'm sorry, I'll try to do better!

This post will catch me up on all of the Mommy's Mani Monday prompts that I haven't posted yet. :-)

First up, "revisit". With this one, we revisited a theme that we didn't get to do due to not being in the group, or just not being available. I revisited the 'dotticure' theme, and then transformed it into a swap mani (to see later!).

The next prompt was: inspired by your children's Halloween costume. Well...we had an "army guy" (he wore a Special Ops costume), Yoda, and Belle. THAT was not easy to put into one mani! lol! I kind of like how it turned out, though. The green here represents Yoda. My ring finger is supposed to be camo - to represent the "army guy", and the rose on my index finger is for Belle!

Next was "your favorite technique". I LOVE stamping. I used to think it was cheating, honestly! I would think all these nail ladies had these mad freehand skills, only to find out that *gasp* it's a STAMP?! No way! Never! Not me!!! Now, here I am...over 100 stamping plates and 5 stampers...haha *sigh*

When the 'favorite song' prompt came up, I immediately knew what I wanted to do! I have been LOVING Holy Spirit by Francesca Battistelli for quite a while now, so I went with it.

Ok, how many people can say they have ONE favorite book? I know I can't! So, when 'favorite book' popped up as a prompt, I did what any bibliophile would do! I crammed 4 books onto 4 fingers! Ha! Index finger - the Divergent series, middle finger - Harry Potter, Ring finger - The Hunger Games series, pinkie - 50 Shades of Gray (yeah, yeah...)

Having 3 very opinionated little ones makes all of these "your kids' favorite..." prompts pretty difficult. For "your kids' favorite movie", the answers went a little something like this: Oldest daughter - CINDERELLA!!! My son - TRANSFORMERS!!! Youngest daughter - Ummm...NEMO!!! To which I responded...'How about Baymax???' Trio of "noooooooooooooooooo", but they adore Big Hero 6 and they ask to watch it every.single.day. so I went with it!

The next one that came up was a mani that represents your state/country. I had so many ideas for this (Detroit sports, U of M, MSU, robins, lots of things), but I decided to go with my country...the land I love, the good old U.S.A.! This is SUPER simple, but I do like how it came out.

Most recently, we revisited the mani orders prompt. I was instructed to recreate one of my earliest manis (which I LOVE, and I've wanted to recreate it, so this was perfect!). However, since it was a few days before Valentine's day, I recreated it using all things pink and red!

Here's the original version of this mani, which was done almost 2 years ago!

If you would like additional information on any of these manis, please just leave me a comment below, and I'll do my best to let you know what I used! Some of these are kind of (embarrassingly) old, so please forgive me if I don't remember!

What's your favorite theme to create from? Do you have a favorite painting, song, book, movie, technique? Let me know below! Thanks for stopping by :-)

Christmas Mani Round-Up

Whew! That hiatus lasted a little too long. I will try not to be away so much in the future.

Let me start by saying this: Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year! I love winter in general, but Christmas and all that comes along with it just makes it...perfect.

I had big plans. BIG plans to do as many manis as my little heart could squeeze into the month. Sadly...I fell way short. I actually only managed a few that I am classifying as Christmas manis.

First, I'm going to talk about the two manis that I submitted to Nail It! Magazine back in the summer for their winter/Christmas/holiday prompt. One was featured, the other was not. No big deal, I was just excited that one made it since it was my first time submitting something to them!

First up, my stamped Nail It! submission. For this mani, I used Wet 'N Wild Fergie "Mazel Tov Madness" for the base. I then stamped using M Polish Snowberry and CiCi&SiSi plate 08.

Now for my second submission! This one was actually kind of therapeutic to do. Time consuming, but therapeutic. lol Anyways, I started with my base of Zoya Rue (this is quite possibly my favorite nude polish, EVER). Then, I used my Sinful Colors Pride glitter, and fished out all these little red and green pieces, placed them in the shape of a wreath, and drowned them all in top coat.

Now for the rest of them!

First, I got my first F.U.N. Lacquer (!!!). This polish is so pretty. The shiftiness is to die for, and the holo just makes it that much prettier! I do like it, but if the sun would ever show it's beautiful self again, I think I would love it even more!

For this mani, I used F.U.N. Lacquer Unconditional Love (H), and stamped with M Polish Bells of Ireland using BM-S218. Two pictures included to maybe show off that wonderful shift!

Next, I have my first ever Frenzy Polish mani! Man, when I found out Frenzy was releasing a Mockingjay collection, I had to have it. Had to. For this mani, I used Frenzy Polish If We Burn, and stamped with M Polish Cayuga and Winstonia Have A Merry X'Mas.

This mani is the one that I wore for my husband's work Christmas party. I used NYC Fashion Safari for the base, stamped with M Polish Elizabethan using CiCi&SiSi 10.

Technically, I did this one at the end of November, but I'm counting it. ;-) This is Bonita Forget-Me-Not as the base, stamped with M Polish To Have And To Holo using BM-S213. It's not the greatest picture, but I loved this mani!

What's been your favorite mani over the last few months?
Polish on!

Hey there!

A fairly well-known Instagrammer (I think I just made that up, you like it? lol) recently celebrated a birthday, yay! She's actually a part of the Mommy's Mani Monday group as well, so I've had the pleasure of working with her regularly. She's pretty amazing, so be sure to go check her out! (Info below)

Anyways, I was asked if I wanted to participate in a birthday collaboration for her. The only requirement was that each of us recreate a mani of hers. Of course I said yes so below, you will see the collage, the original mani that I recreated, then my version of it. Enjoy!

Avon Breast Cancer Walk Mani and Collage

Hey lovelies :-)

Recently, a fellow mom and nail polish lover participated in the Avon Breast Cancer walk. We were all there for her (in spirit) from the minute she decided to walk, through her training, through the walk, and still now after she has already completed the walk! The nail community has brought me so many great friends, and I have a deep appreciation for each and every one of you. <3 p="">
Many of us coordinated our mani's to correspond with her walk. The only requirement? Include the color pink! So, here you will see the collage that was put together, and below, my solo shot from the collaboration. :-)

Push Your Mani September: Ruffian

Hi there again! The second prompt for September's Push Your Mani was "Ruffian". I had never done one, and was pretty excited to try it. Anyways, we were going to watch the Detroit Tigers play, so blue and orange it was!

Colors used:
M Polish Hottie
Sinful Colors Matte About Blue
Love Angeline Coralline
Stamped using Born Pretty Store plate BP-13

You can find these products here:
M Polish: Website; Instagram; Facebook

Push Your Mani August: Matte

Hey there! Here is another Push Your Mani, mani! This one is "Matte". I've wanted to do something like this for quite a while. I just wish I could top coat the whole thing and not lose the stamp! Ah well...

For this mani, I used NYC Color Prince Street and my Wet & Wild matte top coat. Stamped with Shany Cosmetics plate SH203.

PYM August: Matte

One more prompt to go! Do you enjoy monthly challenges? Or do you prefer to work alone? ;-)

Push Your Mani August: Stained Glass

Hello! This prompt...ooohhh, this prompt. I had so many ideas that I wanted to try. So many stamps that I had in my head but this one...this one stood out to me. I had to give it a shot, and of course, I had to try out my brand spanking new Cayuga that I got from M Polish! Seriously, if you haven't tried M Polish yet, you are soooooo missing out! I only had to stamp each of my nails one time. ONCE. And it cleaned up like a dream.

This mani is stamped using M Polish Cayuga and CiCi&SiSi 27. I filled all the little nooks and crannies in with ORLY Bling, Digital Glitter and Steal The Spotlight. Love the sparklies in this one. :-)

PYM August: Stained Glass

Have you tried lead lighting, or a negative space stamp? I almost didn't want to cover these up!

Polish on, lovelies!

Stamped Weekend Mani

Hi again! Last weekend, the hubby and I took the whole fam up to my mom and step-dad's cabin. We had lots of fun, and of course I had to paint my nails with a 'wow factor' that had a bit of staying power (read: glitter!). So, I opted for some glitter, and a bit of subtle stamping!

Here we have Funky Fingers Bling Dipper (photochrome!) stamped with Gesso using my brand spanking new CiCi&SiSi 30 plate!

This mani shows my new watermark, too! Yay!

Are you a stamper? What are your go-to products?

Push Your Mani August: Nautical

Hey everyone! The fourth prompt for Push Your Mani this month was "Nautical". I was totally excited about this one because I had this great idea in my head. It turned out pretty close to what I had imagined, I'm calling it a win!

So, without further adieu....here are my Nautical Nails!

For this mani, I used Laquerlicious (now Polish'M) Distant Shores for the base, and I stamped waves using  M Polish Starflower and Snowberry. The anchors and stars are stamped with M Polish Copper. Love, love, love!

PYM August: Nautical
Have you done a nautical themed mani? What did you use?

Push Your Mani August: Butterflies

Hello again! I opted for a quick and easy mani the other day because I was short on time getting out of the house. I used Envy Lacquer "Pride" topped with a single coat of "Sinful Summer, both from the Seven Sins of Summer collection. I love how fun this glitter is! It's quickly becoming one of my faves!

Envy Lacquer Pride and Sinful Summer

The third challenge for Push Your Mani for the month of august was butterflies. I opted for a more subtle, abstract take. Since I loved this base color combo so much, I decided to keep it and just add the butterfly stamps to it later on!

As previously mentioned, this is a base of Envy Lacquer "Pride" topped with "Sinful Summer", stamped with M Polish Berry Best Friend using Cici&Sisi 07. I'm soooooo excited that I got my grubby little paws on this LE polish!

What are your favorite stamping images? Do you like floral? Abstract? Geometric?

Rowan Collab - #rememberrowan

***trigger story***

A while back, one of the amazing ladies that I'm proud to call my friend within the nail community, came up with the idea to do a collaboration for a sweet mama - another amazing lady I can call my friend - who lost her baby to full term stillbirth. 60 ladies decided to remember and honor Rowan with their purple manis, many of which with butterflies which represent sweet Rowan.

Watch the flipagram here: #rememberrowan flipagram

June Mani Swap

I took a short break from mani swaps just because I was beginning to feel overwhelmed. Well, this month, I jumped back in! Here's my mani swap with the fabulous @mani_on_the_run! I recreated her holographic/silver stamp mani, and she recreated one of my newest, and yet favorite mani's yet! OG Pacific Blue ftw!

And here's my solo shot from the swap. I used Colors by Llarowe My Broken Down Crop Duster...and oh my holo goodness! It is gorgeous!!!

See? Just look at that holo-y goodness!

Do you enjoy mani swaps? What was your favorite mani to recreate?

Recent Mani Catch Up

Ok, this post is going to be all photos! I've fallen so far behind posting about each mani, that I'm just going to throw a bunch in here, so enjoy! :-)

Did some water marbling with my new China Glaze Electric Nights collection.
Prompt: Neons. Used the Maybelline Bleached Neons line
Put Your Clown Face On by Envy Lacquer
Multi-color stamping using M Polish; Polish Of My People collection.

Prompt: Polish Roulette - My husband picked the polishes.
This one didn't get submitted for that prompt. A different one did. ;-)

This one will hold a special place in my heart for a long time. My niece's
high school Varsity soccer team made it to state finals for the first time
in the school's history. I got to go to the game, and this is how I painted
to celebrate. M Polish Hottie stamped over Color Club Beyond.
Hope you enjoyed these mani's! Stay polished.

Mommy's Mani Monday & St. Patrick's Day Nails

Ok, so I'm waaaaay behind on posting this. Please forgive me! These kids just keep taking over my days and I can't do everything my little heart desires. ;-)

Anyways. I'm absolutely excited that I get to be a part of the Mommy's Mani Monday group on Instagram! There are so many talented ladies in that group, and I just love seeing all of their amazing work. Head on over there and check out all of the great manis!

The first MMM I got to participate in was St. Patrick's Day! I was so excited because I got to use my M Polish. :-)

Here's my MMM St. Patty's day mani...

And the full collage!

Now, I did a second mani as well, and I just love how these turned out!

What's your favorite holiday to paint for? What design to you gravitate towards for that holiday?

Cinderella Nails!

So, about a week and a half ago, I went to see the new Cinderella movie with my mom, my sister, two of my nieces, and my oldest daughter. Of course, I had to paint my nails for the occasion!

This one was done with Zoya Sailor, and stamped with M Polish Starflower using plate 204 from my Shany plate set. I LOOOVE M Polish!

This mani was also featured on the Zoya website. :-)

One of these days I'll get all of my featured manis put in that there tabby-do at the top!

March Mani Swap

Oooooh, I love mani swaps! I love looking through someone else's art and choosing something that I love so I can recreate it. And seeing what others choose of mine? Psh, LOVE! Yeah, I'm a mushy, squishy, unicorns and rainbows kind of person. Most of the time. Ha!

Anyways. Back to nails. I've done a handful of these mani swaps in the past, and I'm hoping I'll get around to posting them on my "past mani's" page. Maybe I'll just make one big love fest post and have them all in one place, who knows! The March swap is the focus of this post, so I need to stop with the tangents.

I was paired with @baboo_does_nails this time, and MAN did I love looking through everything she has on IG. I think I picked out about 10 manis that I want to recreate, but I opted for this one because it just screams summer, and I can't wait until warmer open-all-the-doors-and-windows weather!

For this mani, I used L.A. Colors Flicker and Absolute. It's stamped with Sally Hansen White On using my Cici&Sisi plate 05. I love it!

And here is the collage with both of our recreations. She chose my quilted mani, and totally rocked it! Go check her out!

Do you enjoy mani swaps? What's your favorite design to recreate?

See ya next time!
